An e‑Ration Card (Electronic Ration Card) in West Bengal is a digitally issued PDF document, equivalent in legal validity to a traditional ration card. It features a QR code for verification at fair price shops and can be downloaded and printed anytime from the official porta.
Who Can Apply?
Residents of West Bengal who don’t already have a digital ration card. Must have Aadhaar and a mobile number linked to it.
Documents Needed
- Aadhaar card
- Mobile number linked to Aadhaar
- ID proof (e.g., voter ID, PAN)
- Address proof (electricity/water bill, etc.)
- Passport-size photo of the head of the household
- Income certificate (if applicable)
- Old ration card (for duplicate or family member inclusions)
Online Application Process
Go to the Food & Supplies Department website: food.wb.gov.in or the RCMS portal at wbfss.wb.gov.in/rcms.

Click on “Apply for new e‑Ration Card” or go to Aadhaar Authentication Login. Enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and submit the OTP to log in.

Select form based on your requirement (e.g., Form 3 — new family, Form 9 — duplicate card, Form 4/5/6 for modifications)

Fill in Household Details
Enter all required information:
- Family members
- Aadhaar or other ID
- Address
- Upload documents and photo
Review the complete form carefully and click Submit. You will receive an Application Reference Number. Save it for tracking. The department will verify your details (Aadhaar, address, eligibility). Processing typically takes 30–45 working days
